Free vs Complete Edition

The main differences are how many BlendShapes you can fix and which extra features you can use.

Before purchasing, try fixing your avatar with the free edition and check that blinking works correctly.
You can easily upgrade to the paid Complete Edition afterward.

Before purchasing

In both editions, Auto Fix repairs eye-closing BlendShapes. It does not automatically repair values or movements in existing expression animations.
Even with Bake Mode, the animations may need adjustment. See the FAQ for details.

What the free edition can do

Installing Avatar Blink Fix gives you the free edition. It can repair vrc.blink, a BlendShape commonly used for regular blinking.

What the Complete Edition adds

Go for the paid edition if you want to:

  • Fix winks, smiling eyes, and other eye-closing BlendShapes all at once
  • Fix MMD BlendShapes too
  • Fix face-tracking eye-close BlendShapes too
  • Use Auto Fix (Bake Mode) when expression animations conflict with the fix
  • Merge blinking animations, such as fluttering blinks, into expression animations while preserving the expressions → Animation support (extra feature)
  • Adjust the shape of corrected blinks and winks (see the guide to the fine-tuning and replacement window, available in 3.0.17 and later)

The free edition cannot fix some avatars

The free edition can fix BlendShapes such as vrc.blink and eye_close. Some avatars don't have a BlendShape with one of the supported names, so the free edition may not be able to fix them. Even then, the Complete Edition can fix any eye-closing BlendShape.

Do I need the paid edition?

Try the free edition first. If fixing one BlendShape is enough for you to use your avatar without issues, there's no need to upgrade.

If you want to fix other eye-closing BlendShapes, MMD BlendShapes, or face-tracking BlendShapes, you can purchase an unlock key from the Avatar Blink Fix page on BOOTH and easily upgrade.

Note: Import the unlock key once to use the Complete Edition in all projects on that PC. To use it on another PC, import the key once on that PC too.
